Letters from You - February 2012

Bill,

Just a short note to say I saw our paths crossed in Mina, Nevada, of all places. I make a yearly trek from Vacaville down to Laughlin, Nevada, each year for a retirees’ get together.

Not wanting to do the I-5 or 99 trip both ways, I take a couple of days to route through Pahrump, Tonopah and, of course, Mina. Desert Lobster is always my breakfast stop.

After tying up my RAV 4 securely to the cleats, I ordered breakfast. While Bob Eddy went to work on my order, I wandered about the room and low and behold there was your card on the board. Small world!

Figured you must have turned hard to port in Bullhead City so as to follow the asphalt slough to Reno and back to Stockton; or maybe it was the reverse.

I’ll be back in Mina in mid-March; breakfast is on me.

All the best.

Howard,

That is great! What a cool place. Once in a while I need to do a little desert traveling, which probably dates from my very young years in Desert Center with my grandfather.

We actually went through Reno and made a starboard turn off of I-80 onto 95 to get to Mina. It was amazing to see a big yacht alongside the road serving food. I hope we can meet up there in the near future.

Bill
